Rainy Days and Mondays.....

Back to Monday and back to the rain. So, no work on the roof, but Jp and Mikel started to put the screed (la chappe) on the underfloor heating.

We naively thought that the water pipes would be covered by a fairly 'runny' self-levelling screed but, oh no! I was assurred that it was to be done 'traditionally', using a fairly stiff mix and with it all trowelled flat. This would avoid the floor, and the tiles, cracking a few years down the line.

But what this meant was that, it all takes a lot longer to lay. By the end of the day, they'd laid the screed in the bedroom, bathroom, passage to the boiler, and the major part of the stairs passage.

They presumably will finish this off in the morning, and then we'll have to wait for it to properly dry. So, come Friday, hopefully, we can start to get the bathroom ready.

It was lashing it down with rain when we returned home this afternoon from shopping for more materials in Cahors. Where is the hot sunshine????
