Garden Force

Sue has been concerned about the garden.  The beds are choked with weeds and even mowing the grass can't hide this!  But help was at hand.  Our friends Paul and Jennifer kindly offered to pass a few days with us, solely to work in the garden.  They duly arrived last Sunday and, fortunately with good weather, we began on Monday.

As you can see, Sue was determined to try to do her share; she was thrilled to see how well some of the plants have survived and even thrive.

Work continued as fast as we could recover our energy, with occasional interesting interruptions.  On Wednesday afternoon the 'council' hedge-trimmer arrived and offered, via our neighbours, to trim our hedge.  We rapidly said yes please and the hedge was trimmed forthwith.  For the price of a bottle of wine (in way of thanks) it certainly saved us a lot of time.  This would not have happened in the UK.

Today (Thursday) further reinforcements presented themselves in the shape of Mike and Irene.  Whilst everybody weeded, I was non-stop emptying the wheelbarrows!

So now Sue is a happy bunny and all we've got to do is to stop it all becoming overgrown again!!!!!
