Owl Watch
We've just come in from the terrace at half past ten at night, having been sat out in the darkening evening watching the owl. We luckily timed it just right: as we went outside with a coffee and a shot of the Armagnac which Mel kindly left behind, Sue saw the owl flying out of the Pigeonnier. We must have sat there for about a quarter of an hour and the owl was back and forward non-stop. Each return was greeted vociferously with loud screeches from the youngsters inside. All appears to be progressing well!
We were visited by the 'Fosse Septique' man this afternoon. I had phoned up to try to find out what we will have to do for the used water from the house and a meeting was arranged. A very pleasant young man arrived promptly at 2pm and was very helpful. What is required is straight- forward and possibly is within our capabilities. He made notes of what we are doing in his lap-top, and all we will have to do once we have started, is phone him for an inspection before we cover the whole thing up with earth. I don't know whether it is going to be possible to continue using our existing foul-water system whilst we install the new. Still, at least we've got the porta-potty, our portable toilet.
