Plough the Fields and Scatter

It was another glorious day and, with the imminent arrival of our building materials, which will require our undivided attention, we have spent the day out in the garden.

Sue wanted the veg patch tidied up, as she has bought some asparagus plants which are ready to go in. Whilst she was down at the vegetable plot, she saw that the rhubarb is showing through the ground.

I had to get the tiller out to run over a few beds that we didn't use last year, and then I set to, breaking up the surface of the wildflower area, so that we could plant all of the Wildflower seeds that we've bought or been given.

We then mixed the seeds with sand so that we could try to ensure that we scattered the seeds over the whole of the wildflower area.

Our good friend Eric will be pleased to see the last of his poppy seeds finally finding a home!

So then it was off to scatter the seed/sand mix into the little bits of exposed earth that I'd created with the tiller. It all seems very contrived to try to create something which is described as 'wild'.

On our way back to pack away our tools, we saw the house from the back-garden. As you can see it is still very much work in progress.
